On April 29, 2023, 80 AAUW members and guests gathered at the Broadmoor Community Church Fellowship Hall to enjoy a bountiful brunch, listen to a presentation from an outstanding Pikes Peak Region author, Claire Boyles, purchase signed copies of her books, and shop the silent auction! What a great day, with all proceeds going to support the annual scholarships awarded by AAUW Colorado Springs to 4-6 junior or senior women attending Pikes Peak State College or University of Colorado, Colorado Springs!
Claire Boyles is the author of Site Fidelity, her debut collection of short stories that was longlisted for the 2022 Pen America/Robert W. Bingham Prize, winner of the High Plains Book Award for Short Stories, and a finalist for both the Reading the West Award in debut fiction and the Colorado Book Award in Literary Fiction. Claire is a writer, Mom and former farmer who brings these perspectives to her work, anchored in the small towns and rural places of Colorado and Nevada. She shared both personal and professional tales from her life as an author and family member that left us eagerly awaiting her next book.
